WebWe've been having this issue on other backup solutions as well, not just Datto. Long term band-aid is excluding the DFSR VSS writer on backup. Our short term before finding that out was to force stop DFSR, and then restart COM+ Event services, and then VSS. That would clear up the lock up of the VSS writer and you could continue backups.
